A WRONG TURN AT THE OFFICE OF UNMADE LISTS
based on the novel by Jane Rawson
adapted by Glenn Saunders
2023 - 2024
(full-length play | adaptation | unproduced)
A surreal comedy about climate change, losing your home, and not giving up
Synopsis: It's Melbourne, 2030. The streets are too hot; public transport is less than reliable; water and electricity are precious luxuries; and UN Peacekeepers patrol the streets.
Tired of being broke, Caddie starts to write, while her partner, Ray, buys a bundle of old maps - including one of San Francisco. When Ray meets Sarah and Simon – two teenagers trying to see every 25-foot-square of America – all their lives are set on a collision course in unexpected ways.
An urgent (and sometimes surreal) wakeup call for a rapidly warming planet, A Wrong Turn at the Office of Unmade Lists asks what kind of future are we hurtling towards? Do we want to be stuck in the past? What if we could collectively change it for the better?
